William Blake's
Jerusalem

Sung By The Parry Choir

From a poem by William Blake

Original score by Elgar
(As part of The Pomp And Circumstance March) Jerusalem
Sung Here By The Parry Choir
C 1906

And did those feet, in ancient time?
walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy lamb of God?
On England pleasant pastures seen?

And did that countenance divine?
Shine forth upon
These blessed hills?
And will Jerusalem be builded here?
Among these dark satanic mills?

Bring me my bow
Of Burning gold
Bring Me my arrows of desire
Bring Me my spear Oh clouds unfold
Bring me my chariot of fire.

I shall not cease from mental fight
Nor shall my sword rest in my hand
until Jerusalem is builded here
In England's green and pleasent land.
