Welcome To The Heart Of San Diego
USA

A very dear friend of mine MaryAnne Luna has sent us some pictures of her artwork from San-Diego in the USA and we have been given permission to display the pictures, please remember some may think that this could be controversial, but art like music should have that quality of deep expression, after all being made to think about our world never hurt anyone.

I am indeed, very honoured to be able to bring you this ladies art work work.

The second picture below is a scene of the oil fields on fire in Iraq. There is a soldier's figure laying down in the foreground hidden in the dirt.
It is designed to be really subtle, so subtle that no one at the show noticed it while she was there.

It was shown at the
"War in Our Eyes"
show at the:
Abstrax Arts Gallery in University Heights, San Diego.
It's called:
"At What Cost?"

"At What Cost?"
Mary Anne Luna

Comment: I think both these pictures speak volumes about our culture, it's greed and its dependancy on an oil based economy. The painter "Mary Anne Luna", has contributed a great deal of thought and emotion to these paintings. She has brought out in her vision the wasteful gestures of the ignorance of our politicians who would sacrifice their own people.

Not to develop their country or prevent poverty, but to send them into an unwinnable war in some far away foreign country. Why have they done this?, not for weapons of mass destruction, or even to remove a brutal dictatorship, simply to obtain and secure a safe supply of crude oil, which will only ever serve to do more harm to environment then we already have done.

It is only in my opinion that the stability of the Middle East will not come through war, or politicians, it will come through a greater understanding and acceptances of other races creeds and cultuires, without sacrificing our own.

I hope to bring you more of her pictures soon.

A big thank you Mary Anne

I have chosen Massachussettes by the BeeGees for this part of my site, I was trying to find a song which reaches out for the loneliness and pain of war and its separation, I heard this one and liked it.
