Welcome To The Ben Reynoldson Tribute

How It All Began

Ben Reynoldson, pictured above and right, with his band began his career as a semi professional in the Old Priory Palais in Whitley Bay. It was from there that he began to build up his connections and was indeed destined for achievement with the early dance halls.

From there he became a Musical Director with Tilleys, then onto Maximes in Edinburgh in 1937 to 1938. But This was just the beginning of a long and extensive musical carreer which was to last the best part of 90 years and saw him play alongside some of the World's most famous band leaders and their bands.

This part of the site is dedicating itself to 100 years of music as a dedication to both him and the music of the times. We will include photographs of the areas he played in, samples of music for you to enjoy and a fascinating adventure into our countries varied and colourful past of music.

Welcome to the 100 Years Of Music Tribute.
