Years 1905 to 1910

By this time the second Boer War had ended and Edward VII was now on the throne After the Death of Victoria in 1901. The year 1905 was also significant as in the September Einstein published his theory of relativity.

By 1909 Edison released the first Frankenstien movie which would be remade many many times and cinemas began to open their doors.

Music

In 1904, A Thomas Wright Waller was born on May 21 in Harlem into a community of Afro Americans, Harlem was already becoming an important community of African-Americans 1904. This child was to become a musically creative genius. In 1910 Eddy Duchin was born in Cambrige Masachussettes and went on to become a great orchestra and band leader.

Sadly as time itself tells King edward died in 1910 after a very short reign. This wonderful song was written by Newman Wolsey to mark the Occasion. During his reign England had seen in the
1902 Education Act

In 1908 Pensions had been established
and in 1909 the groundwork was laid for National insurance throughout his reign he was a popular king who presided over many changes some of which are apparant today.

So a worthy song indeed

Written by a popular but little known composer in the UK Per Bolstatd The piece Is lively and bright although different from the music of the times either in America or in England

Old-Time Dance Tunes Norway Per Bolstad was born on June 28th 1875 and studied music
with G.Spies and F.Bock.
In the 1890s he formed his own orchestra for Dance Music.
